Indonesia's 2027 holidays are set: 18 national holidays and 8 collective-leave days, including a 10-day stretch around Nyepi and Idulfitri in March

Labor & HRSKB 3 Menteri — Hari Libur Nasional dan Cuti Bersama 2027Issued: October 12, 2026

A Joint Decree of three ministers, signed on 15 September 2026, sets Indonesia's national holidays and collective-leave days for 2027: 18 national holidays and 8 collective-leave (cuti bersama) days. It is numbered 1205, 3 and 2 of 2026. Seven of the 18 holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday, and all 8 collective-leave days fall on weekdays. The State Secretariat notes that collective leave is applied to civil servants under the relevant regulations, while private employers decide for themselves how to apply it. The longest stretch is in March: Nyepi on Monday 8 March, Idulfitri on 10 and 11 March, and collective leave on 9, 12 and 15 March together give 10 consecutive days off, 6–15 March, for anyone who takes every collective-leave day.

Key points

  • Instrument: Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religious Affairs (Nasaruddin Umar), the Minister of Manpower (Yassierli) and the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Rini Widyantini), numbers 1205/2026, 3/2026 and 2/2026, on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2027, signed 15 September 2026 (State Secretariat).
  • National holidays, January to March: Fri 1 Jan (New Year); Tue 5 Jan (Isra Mikraj); Sat 6 Feb (Chinese New Year); Mon 8 Mar (Nyepi); Wed 10 and Thu 11 Mar (Idulfitri 1448 H); Fri 26 Mar (Good Friday); Sun 28 Mar (Easter).
  • National holidays, May to December: Sat 1 May (Labour Day); Thu 6 May (Ascension); Mon 17 May (Iduladha); Thu 20 May (Waisak); Tue 1 Jun (Pancasila Day); Sun 6 Jun (Islamic New Year); Sun 15 Aug (Maulid); Tue 17 Aug (Independence Day); Sat 25 Dec (Christmas); Sun 26 Dec (Isra Mikraj).
  • Isra Mikraj appears twice, on 5 January and 26 December: the Islamic calendar is about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian year, so the observance falls twice in 2027.
  • Collective leave (8 days): Fri 5 Feb; Tue 9, Fri 12 and Mon 15 Mar; Thu 25 Mar; Tue 18 and Wed 19 May; Fri 24 Dec.
  • Counting weekdays (our arithmetic from the dates above): 11 of the 18 national holidays fall on weekdays, since 6 Feb, 28 Mar, 1 May, 6 Jun, 15 Aug, 25 Dec and 26 Dec are Saturdays or Sundays. All 8 collective-leave days are weekdays, so a business that observes every one of them has 19 weekdays off for these reasons in 2027.
  • Longer stretches, as we read the calendar: 6–15 March (10 days, if all three collective-leave days are taken); 25–28 March (four days, Thursday to Sunday); 17–20 May (four days, with 18 and 19 May collective leave); 5–7 February and 24–26 December (three days each).
  • Private sector: the State Secretariat says that for private institutions, how collective leave is applied is decided by each institution's leadership. The State Secretariat also says the dates of 1 Ramadan, Idulfitri and Iduladha are determined by a decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs, so confirm those dates nearer the time.

What this means for your Indonesian entity

Use the list now, because 2027 production, payroll and leave calendars are normally fixed in the fourth quarter. The practical decision is the collective-leave days: the State Secretariat leaves their application in the private sector to each employer, so decide whether your company observes all eight, some, or none, tell staff early, and check that your employment regulations or collective agreements do not already tie a leave or payment rule to the SKB. For production sites and customer-facing teams, the March stretch is the one to plan around — 6–15 March if all collective leave is taken — together with 17–20 May and the year-end days. Check supplier and customer calendars as well, since suppliers that close for the full stretch will affect your own lead times. Note the dates of Idulfitri and Iduladha are set by a Minister of Religious Affairs decree, so they can still be confirmed later.
