Indonesia Tax Compliance

Coretax, e-Faktur, and e-Bupot — handled by our tax team, grounded in your accounting data. Explained in Japanese to your HQ.

For Japanese companies operating in Indonesia

Who actually operates the tax systems — and what the software does

Indonesian tax compliance runs through government systems that require local registration and operation. Bridge Note covers this as a service: our tax team, supervised by a Japanese CPA, files on your behalf. Our cloud accounting software keeps the ledgers those filings are built from, so figures reported to the tax office and figures reported to your HQ come from the same source.

We describe our scope precisely on purpose. Bridge Note's software does not submit directly to these government systems via API — filing is performed by our tax professionals. If a vendor's "integration" claim matters to your evaluation, ask them to state which of the two it is.

Coretax

Coretax DJP

What it is: Indonesia's integrated tax administration system operated by the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), which consolidates taxpayer registration, filing, and payment into one platform.

What our service does

Our tax team operates Coretax on your behalf — registration and account setup, periodic and annual filings, and correspondence with the tax office. Japanese-speaking staff explain what was filed and why.

What the software provides

Bridge Note maintains the underlying ledgers and transaction records that the filings are built from, with Excel export for preparation and review.

e-Faktur

Faktur Pajak / PPN

What it is: Indonesia's electronic VAT (PPN) invoice system. Registered VAT businesses must issue tax invoices through it and report them periodically.

What our service does

We prepare and submit your VAT (PPN) invoices and periodic VAT returns, reconciling output and input VAT against your books before filing.

What the software provides

Sales and purchase transactions — including invoices, debit notes, and credit notes — are recorded in Bridge Note with tax categories, giving a reconciled base for VAT reporting.

e-Bupot

Bukti Potong / PPh

What it is: Indonesia's electronic withholding tax (PPh) certificate system, used to issue and report withholding slips for payments such as services, rent, and dividends.

What our service does

We calculate withholding tax, issue withholding slips (bukti potong), and file the periodic withholding tax returns for your entity.

What the software provides

Payment and expense transactions subject to withholding are captured in the purchase and accounting modules, so the amounts feeding the slips trace back to journal entries.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Bridge Note support Coretax?

Yes, as a service. Our Indonesia-based tax team operates Coretax on your behalf — registration, periodic and annual filings, and correspondence with the tax office. The accounting software maintains the ledgers and transaction records the filings are prepared from. The software does not submit to Coretax directly via API.

Can Bridge Note handle e-Faktur (VAT / PPN) invoices?

Yes, as a service. We prepare and submit VAT invoices and periodic VAT returns, reconciling output and input VAT against your books first. In the software, sales and purchase documents — invoices, debit notes, and credit notes — are recorded with tax categories so the VAT position ties back to the general ledger.

Do you handle e-Bupot (withholding tax / PPh)?

Yes, as a service. We calculate withholding tax, issue withholding slips (bukti potong), and file periodic withholding tax returns. Payments subject to withholding are recorded in the purchase and accounting modules, so slip amounts trace back to journal entries.

Can our Japanese head office review the Indonesian subsidiary's accounting data?

Yes. Bridge Note is a browser-based cloud application with no local installation, accessible from Japan and Indonesia. Local staff can work in Indonesian or English while head office reviews in Japanese, with per-screen permissions and read-only users available for HQ reviewers.

Is Bridge Note an accounting software company or a tax firm?

Both. PT Bridge Note Indonesia develops Bridge Note, a multi-language cloud accounting platform, and provides accounting, tax, and payroll outsourcing supervised by a Japanese CPA. Clients can use the software, the services, or both — the combination is what lets tax filings and HQ reporting draw on the same underlying data.

What happens during an Indonesian tax audit or SP2DK?

We provide strategic support for SP2DK (taxpayer confirmation letters), tax audits, and tax court proceedings, working with experienced local tax consultants and CPAs. We prepare explanation documents, attend meetings, and negotiate on your behalf. Spot support is available for companies without a monthly advisory contract.
