PP 30/2026 raises Indonesia's trademark registration and renewal fees 55%
Promulgated 2 July 2026 and effective 1 August 2026, PP 30/2026 resets the non-tax state revenue (PNBP) fee schedule at Indonesia's Ministry of Law, replacing PP 45/2024. For general (non-UMK) applicants, trademark registration rises from Rp 1.8 million to Rp 2.8 million per class — DJKI's first adjustment to this fee since 2016 — while patent fees and UMK/small-business trademark rates are unchanged.

- UMK (micro/small business) trademark rates are unchanged (Rp 500,000 registration, Rp 1 million on-time renewal, Rp 2 million late renewal), evidenced by simplified documents such as a UMK recommendation letter or risk-based NIB under Ministry of Law Regulation 5/2026.
What this means for Japanese companies
If your Indonesian entity holds or is registering trademarks — your company name, product names, or logo — budget for higher government fees from August 2026 onward: a new registration now costs Rp 2.8 million per class rather than Rp 1.8 million, and a late renewal costs Rp 7 million. Check your trademark renewal dates now — filing within the on-time window (up to 6 months before expiry) avoids the steeper late-renewal fee. Patent fees are unchanged, so there is no comparable urgency there.
